Gujarat Krushi Sahay Package 2024: Gujarat government has made a big announcement for farmers. An agricultural relief package has been announced for the farmers of the areas affected by the heavy rains in Gujarat in July 2024. Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel has announced a package worth 350 crores for farmers. It has been said that the affected farmers will be given additional top-up assistance from the state fund as per the rules of SDRF and considering the severity of the loss.
More than 1.50 lakh farmers will be assisted
Along with this, he has informed that approximately 4,06,892 hectares of 45 talukas of 9 districts of the state have been affected. For which 272 teams have conducted a detailed survey. About 1.50 lakh farmers who have more than 33 percent loss as per SDRF norms will get assistance within the limit of 2 hectares.

In this regard, Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said at the Assembly House that, as a result of heavy rains in some districts of Gujarat during the month of July-2024, farmers’ agriculture and horticulture crops have been extensively damaged. In such a dire situation, the state government has announced an agricultural relief package worth Rs 350 crore to help the world in financial loss.
“Gujarat government always on the side of farmers”
The Agriculture Minister further said that under the guidance of PM Modi, the approach of the Gujarat government has always been farmer-oriented. The government of India and Gujarat always stand by the farmers during the natural calamities of the state. This farmer interest decision has been taken on an immediate basis so that the farmers get help in the loss at the initial stage of sowing and they can re-plant quickly.
4,06,892 hectare area affected
Along with this, the Agriculture Minister has also stated that in the month of July, an area of 4,06,892 hectares was affected by heavy rains in a total of 45 talukas of Junagadh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari and Tapi districts. A detailed survey has been conducted by forming 272 teams in this affected area. Based on which assistance will be given to more than 1.50 lakh affected farmers.
Talking about the norms laid down for providing assistance to the farmers as per the rules, he has said that the affected farmers will be given assistance for crop loss as per the norms of SDRF-State Disaster Response Fund. Also, additional top up assistance will be provided from state funds/under state budget keeping in mind the severity of the loss.
