Rain Systems Now Active in Both the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal: Monsoon has officially entered Gujarat and according to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will arrive in the entire country from tomorrow i.e. June 24. Along with this, a new forecast has also come out. According to the Meteorological Department, this time the monsoon will break many records, after 12 years, two systems are expected to be active simultaneously in the monsoon, causing heavy rains. The monsoon has now shifted towards the hilly areas of North India.
Meteorological Department Forecast (IMD)
According to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has now covered the entire Ladakh and reached most parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and some parts of Punjab.
Monsoon rains have started wreaking havoc across India. While rains have shown their impact in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, weather conditions are favourable for the arrival of monsoon in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and more parts of Delhi as well as western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and remaining parts of Jammu and Kashmir by June 24. If the first monsoon rains fall in Delhi on June 24, it could be the earliest arrival in the city since 2013. In 2013, the first rains fell on June 16. Last year, the monsoon reached Delhi on June 28, in 2023 on June 25, in 2022 on June 30 and in 2021 on July 13. A rain warning has been issued for Delhi today (June 23). There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) in the evening, while light to moderate rain, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) are expected at night.
Meteorological Department issued a warning
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted in north-west India, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Konkan and Goa till June 26. Very heavy rainfall is predicted in Madhya Pradesh on June 23 and 24. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in the northeastern states for the next two days and then light rains may occur for the next four days. This year, the monsoon reached Kerala on May 24, which is the earliest arrival since 2009. When it arrived on May 23. The early arrival of the monsoon is due to the formation of strong weather systems over both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Due to which the monsoon advanced rapidly and by May 29, it reached the entire northeast including Madhya Maharashtra and Mumbai.
