Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.O: The Central Government has provided domestic LPG gas to all the women of India who use unsafe fuel. The wood that women use for cooking is very harmful to their body and it harms the health of women. Therefore, the Central Government has made Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for the facility of gas in every house. Under this scheme, gas will be used for cooking in all the houses.

Eligibility to avail this scheme
- The applicant must be a woman.
- Adult women from any of the following categories.
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural)
- The most backward class
- Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)
- Tea and ex-Tea Garden Tribes
- Forest dwellers
- People living on islands and river islets
- The applicant must be 18 years of age.
- There should be no other LPG connections in the same house.
- The applicant woman should be from a BPL family.
- The woman must be over 18 years of age.
- The woman applying must have a BPL card and a BPL ration card.
- The name of the applicant or any family member should not already be mentioned in any LPG connection.
- The applicant must have a bank account.
Benefits under the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana
Cash assistance for PMUY connections is provided by the Government of India – Rs. 1600 (Rs. 1150 for 14.2kg cylinder/ 5 kg cylinder for connection). The cash assistance covers:
- Cylinder Security Deposit – Rs.1250 for 14.2 kg cylinder / Rs.800 for 5 kg cylinder
- Pressure regulator – Rs. 150
- LPG Hose – Rs. 100
- Domestic Gas Consumer Card – Rs. 25
- Inspection/Installation/Demonstration Charges – Rs. 75
Additionally, all PMUY beneficiaries will be given both their first LPG refill and stove (hotplate) free of cost along with their deposit-free connections by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
