Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana: The Gujarat government has taken many new initiatives to strengthen secondary and higher secondary education under the new National Education Policy-2020. Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana: Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana
A scheme has been launched to provide incentive support to such students so that they can get admission in the science stream and complete their studies up to standard 12.
- Assistance scheme for girl students who choose science stream after standard 10.
- 25,000/- assistance for two years to girl students studying in standard 11 and 12.
- The amount will be deposited in the mother’s or student’s account by the state government.
Eligibility
- The student must have passed standard 10th with 50% or more marks.
- The student must have secured admission to the science stream in standard 11.
- The annual income of the entire family should be ₹6,00,000/- or less.

Students studying in class 11 and 12 in the science stream will get a total assistance of Rs. 25,000/- (twenty-five thousand).

Students will need the following documents when applying:
- Marksheet of standard 10th
- Proof of example in science stream in standard 11 (school example)
- Mother’s Aadhar card and bank passbook
- Copy of the student’s Aadhaar card
- Income certificate
- Passport size photograph
How to apply
The provisions given in the government resolution to avail the benefits of Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana are as follows.
- The resolution has made a provision that the Director of Schools will be the implementing officer of this scheme.
- Director, a separate “Namo Lakshmi” portal will have to be created by the schools for the smooth administration of this assistance scheme.
- Under this scheme, the payment of financial assistance will be deposited in the bank account of the student’s mother through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by the Director, Schools. In case the mother of the student is not alive, in that case, the amount will be deposited in the bank account of the student.
- Since the start of the academic year, state schools have been registering students admitted to their schools in classes 9 to 12 under the CTS (Child Tracking System) under the Vidya Samiksha Kendra.
- Director, the schools will have to verify the registration and eligibility of the students on the CTS portal through the concerned District Education Officer and then the list of eligible students will have to be uploaded on the Namo Lakshmi portal.
- Eligible students will have to complete the verification from the start of the academic session and, as far as possible, deposit the assistance amount for the month of June in the relevant bank account in the month of June itself. Otherwise, at the latest in the month of July, the assistance amount for June and July will have to be deposited in the relevant bank account at the same time.
