Objective of Mahila Swavalamban Yojan

Women are provided benefits of government assistance and government schemes through Mahila Economic Development Corporation. In which “Mahila Swavalamban Yojana” is run to enable women to become self-reliant. This scheme is a loan scheme. In which women are helped for self-employment as well as for starting new business and business according to their skills. Loans are given by banks under this scheme. Subsidy Schemes for Women Up to 40% subsidy is also provided by the corporation.

Eligibility to avail Mahila Swavalamban Yojana

Gujarat Mahila Ekshanik Vikas Nigam, Gandhinagar has determined the following eligibility to avail the benefit of this scheme.

The beneficiary woman should be a citizen of Gujarat.
Age of beneficiary should be between 18 to 65 years.
Female applicant’s family income should be up to 1,20,000 (one lakh twenty thousand) in rural areas.
The family income of urban women beneficiaries should be up to 1,50,000/- (one and a half lakh).

Benefits available in Mahila Swavalamban Yojana

Under Mahila Swavalamban Yojana, if women need money for new business, business or employment purpose, they are given loans by banks. Loans up to Rupees 2,00,000/- (Two Lakhs) are given by the bank. In which a subsidy is given on the project for which the woman has taken a loan.

Standard of Subsidy in Mahila Swavalman Yojana

In the loans given by the bank, a subsidy of 15 per cent or 30,000 whichever is less was given. But according to the new resolution 35 to 40% will be given as following subsidy.

How to apply Mahila Swavalman Yojana?

The application form of this scheme with printed application number will be available from the office of Women and Child Officer. Apart from this, the necessary documents have to be attached with the form and submitted there.

Application Approval Process

To take advantage of this scheme, the form of this scheme will be available from the office of women and children officer at the district level. In which the form has to be submitted in two copies at the office of Women and Child Officer along with the supporting documents requested along with the form. The form is then verified by the office of women and child officer and sent to the respective bank. After completing the required process by the bank, if the bank deems it suitable, the form and the loan are sanctioned. Then the process of payment of subsidy is done by Mahila Economic Development Corporation
