ISRO Spadex Chaser Selfie Video: ISRO has launched two small satellites with a 229 tonne PSLV rocket under the SpaDeX mission. These satellites will dock and undock at an altitude of 470 km. The video has been published by ISRO in which an in-orbit space selfie video has been captured while approaching the target.
This video was captured by ISRO’s SPADEX chaser as the satellite orbited the Earth while approaching the target at an inter-satellite distance (ISD) of 4.8 km. This achievement not only highlights the satellite’s advanced imaging capabilities but also demonstrates its readiness for the next important phase of the mission.

Launched in late December, Chaser is part of SpaceX’s innovative program aimed at testing autonomous docking technology. SpaceX’s Chaser satellite has released the first selfie video of Earth from space, published by ISRO on its Twitter handle (x.com), which offers a breathtaking view of our planet’s vibrant beauty. Released on Saturday, the video shows Earth’s sparkling blue oceans and swirling clouds, a major achievement in the Indian space agency’s ambitious docking mission.
ISRO SpaDeX Mission
ISRO said in a statement after the launch that this mission will prove to be a milestone for India’s space missions. In this mission, two satellites will be attached to each other and separated in space. The success of this mission will make future missions like Chandrayaan-4, its own space station and India’s dream of setting foot on the moon come true.
This will be India’s first collaborative space docking mission, further strengthening ISRO’s presence in the global space arena. The mission is designed to demonstrate technologies essential for precision navigation and safe in-orbit docking, future space station assembly and deep-space exploration.
