Since this morning, heavy rainfall has been lashing several parts of Gujarat, especially South Gujarat. Ahmedabad city has also witnessed scattered showers. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across the state until September 4. According to the forecast, on August 29, most districts of South Gujarat are expected to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, with Surat, Tapi, and Navsari likely to witness very heavy to extremely heavy downpours.

- IMD Director A.K. Das has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for the next 7 days.
- South Gujarat is likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
- Thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds are also expected.
- An LC-3 signal has been issued along Gujarat’s coastal areas.
- Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea, as wind speeds may reach 40–50 km/h.
