Purpose of the scheme: Who will get the assistance benefits?
The scheme is to provide housing to the financially weak Scheduled Castes and especially the homeless people living below the poverty line in a phased manner as a time bound programme. Those who have open plots, completely unpaved mud houses, thatched houses, Kuba type houses or houses that are not fit for habitation will get the benefit.
Eligibility required to avail the benefit
- The beneficiary or any other family member of the beneficiary should not have availed the benefit under any other housing scheme implemented by the government.
- Annual income in rural areas should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000 and annual income in urban areas should not exceed Rs. 1,50,000.
- The amount of assistance for the house will be Rs. 1,20,000. In addition, those who are eligible for assistance of Rs. 12,000 for the toilet will be able to get it separately as per the rules of the scheme. However, if the beneficiary is not eligible for assistance for the toilet, then he will have to mandatorily build the toilet from the assistance of Rs. 1,20,000.
- The beneficiary will have to put up a plaque stating “State Government’s Ambedkar Housing Scheme” on the house constructed under this scheme .
- The ceiling for house construction will be ₹.10,00,000 for urban areas and ₹.7,00,000 for rural areas. The above ceiling will not be applicable to the assistance provided under Affordable Housing Yojana in urban areas.
- The construction of the house will have to be completed within two years from the payment of the first installment of housing assistance.
- The beneficiary must be at least twenty-one years of age.
The amount of assistance under Ambedkar Housing Scheme is as follows.
Installment information
- First installment – ₹40,000 (with administrative sanction order)
- Second installment – ₹.60,000 (after reaching lintel level)
- Third installment – ₹.20,000 (upon completion of construction including toilet)
- Total amount – 1,20,000
Additionally, those who are eligible for assistance of ₹. 12,000 for toilets will be eligible separately as per the rules of the scheme. However, if the beneficiary is not eligible for assistance for toilets, then he/she will have to mandatorily construct a toilet from the assistance of ₹. 1,20,000.

How to apply online (process)
- To open the e-Samaj Kalyan website, open a browser (any one of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox ) and type https://esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in/
- To register on the e-Samaj Kalyan site, click on the Please Register Here link tab.
- After clicking on the Register tab, a menu will open in which you need to fill in your name, gender, date of birth, and caste information.
- After registering, your User ID and Password will be sent to your phone number via message.
- Will be sent. (If Email ID information is written then mail will also be sent)
- To login , enter your User ID , Password , and Captcha Code.
- Click on the tab.
- After logging in for the first time, the applicant will have to fill in other personal information.
- Fill in the personal information related to the scheme in the portal.
