Get Your PAN Card Online at Home : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has officially launched Aadhaar Card Based e-KYC Seva (Aadhaar Based E-KYC Service for Instant PAN) on Thursday 28 May 2020. After the launch of this service, now it is very easy to get pan card, or simply say now you will get your pan number in just 10 minutes and that too online at home. Get your PAN Card at Home In the Union Budget 2020, Finance Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of Instant Apply for PAN facility soon. If you have an Aadhaar card and the mobile number is registered in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) database, you can easily avail this facility.

CBDT has given detailed information about this. The scheme is named e-PAN. After the launch of this facility, now you can get your electronic PAN number for free without any fee. The scheme was initially launched on a pilot basis on 12 February 2020 by the Income Tax Department, but now after the approval of the Finance Ministry, it has been rolled out for all.

What is PAN Card?

PAN card is one of our important proof which we use for bank, return file, loan etc services. PAN Card contains a 10 digit alphanumeric number. which is available from Income Tax Department. PAN Card is manufactured in India under the Income Tax Act, 1961 with a laminated card. which is issued by the Income Tax Department under the supervision of the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT).

Get PAN card in just 10 minutes: According to Income Tax Department rules, a person can get only one PAN card in a lifetime. If a person has more than one PAN card, he can be fined up to 10,000.

Use of PAN Card (Apply for PAN)

  • A PAN card contains name, photo and signature so it can also be used as an identity card.
  • PAN card is mainly used to file income tax i.e. returns. Apply for PAN, the number mentioned in the PAN card is linked to your bank account to track all your transactions and prevent tax evasion.
  • By using PAN card you can do other transactions like PAN card becomes necessary when the salary of an employed person is more than 50 thousand because the salary has to be deposited in direct bank itself.
  • Currently all banks require PAN card along with Aadhaar card so that there is no problem when your transactions go beyond 50 thousand in future.
  • PAN card is considered as an important proof while building, buying or selling property.
  • PAN card is used as a proof of identity while taking loan from the bank.

How to create e-PAN Card?

How to apply online for e-PAN Card?

Step 1 : First go to the official website of Income Tax Department -> incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
Step 2 : Now click on Instant E-PAN option.
Step 3 : Click on Get New e-PAN (Apply for PAN) button.
Step 4: A box will open in which enter the 12 digit Aadhaar card number and tick the given check box and click on Continue button.
Step 5: OTP Validation box will open in which read the instruction and tick mark and click on Continue button.
Step 6: With Aadhaar card, otp will be sent to the registrar’s mobile number and tick the check box. Continue
The OTP will be valid for 15 minutes only.
You have 3 attempts to enter the correct OTP.
The OTP expiry countdown timer on the screen tells you when the OTP will expire.
On clicking Resend OTP, a new OTP will be generated and sent.
Step 7 : Validate Aadhaar Details box will open in which check the information and accept the condition and tick mark Continue.
Linking / validating email ID (registered with your Aadhaar) is optional.
If you have updated your email ID in Aadhaar but it has not been validated, click on Validate Email.
On the Validate Email ID page, enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and click Continue.
If you have not updated your email ID in Aadhaar, click on the link Email ID. On the Validate Email ID page, enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and click Continue.
Step 8 : Select & Update PAN Details box will open in which the message of Successfully e-PAN will be displayed.
Step 9 : The information may have been given through SMS on the mobile which should be saved.

How to download e-PAN Card?

Step 1 : First go to the official website of Income Tax Department -> incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
Step 2 : Now click on Instant E-PAN option.
Step 3 : Now click on Continue button in Check Status / Download PAN box.
Step 4 : Enter the 12 digit Aadhaar card number and click on Continue button.
Step 5: With Aadhaar card, otp will be sent to the registrar’s mobile number and tick the check box. Continue
The OTP will be valid for 15 minutes only.
