Ambalal Patel Rain Forecast
Renowned weather expert Ambalal Patel has issued a strong rain alert for Gujarat this July. According to his forecast, northern parts of Gujarat are already waterlogged, and many more regions are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days.
24-Hour Alert for North Gujarat
As per the forecast:
- Districts like Patan, Sami, Harij, Palanpur, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, and Panchmahal will witness intense downpours over the next 24 hours.
- Some areas might experience flood-like situations.
- Kutch region will also see significant rainfall.
- Rain is also likely in central Gujarat, including Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, and parts of Saurashtra.
When Will the Heaviest Rainfall Occur?
Between 7th to 12th July, Gujarat will face extremely heavy rainfall, especially in:
- North Gujarat
- Central Gujarat
- Eastern Gujarat
In some places, 8 to 10 inches of rainfall is expected, especially in northern regions, potentially causing flooding and waterlogging.
The southern Gujarat belt is also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain during this period.
When Will the Rain Reduce?
Ambalal Patel stated that the intensity of rain will decrease after 18th July. However, by the last week of July, a new weather system will form in the Bay of Bengal, leading to another round of heavy rainfall in:
- South Gujarat
- Saurashtra region
Official IMD (India Meteorological Department) Forecast
The IMD has also issued a 7-day rain alert across Gujarat due to the activation of three weather systems. Heavy to very heavy rain is predicted for several districts:
Districts on Red/Orange Alert:
- Kutch, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha
- Porbandar, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Morbi
- Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar
- Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli
