PM Ujjwala Yojana 2026: The government’s initiative, aims to empower women across the country by providing affordable access to gas cylinders. Through this scheme, underprivileged women are enabled to purchase gas cylinders at subsidized rates, enabling them to maintain a healthy and clean environment in the kitchen. Starting in 2016, the central government launched a scheme aimed at providing gas connection services to economically disadvantaged women living below the poverty line.
Women who were deprived of the benefits of PM Ujjwala Yojana in previous years will get a second chance to get gas connection in 2025. The aim of this initiative is to ensure safe gas supply to their kitchens, which ultimately helps in the uninterrupted maintenance of their lifestyle.
PM Ujjwala Yojana 2026
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is supporting the PM Ujjwala Yojana, which aims to provide LPG connections to women. This initiative will help women overcome stove-related problems. The government will not charge any fee for providing LPG connections to eligible women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. All connections are provided absolutely free of cost.
PM Ujjwala Yojana 2.0
The application process for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has been streamlined to make it easier. Women can now choose to apply online or offline. They will get gas connections within 15 days of the government receiving their application. The aim of this new phase is to provide the benefits of the scheme to lakhs of women by providing gas cylinders.

Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana Subsidy
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has been expanded to provide additional benefits. Apart from getting free gas connection, beneficiaries will also be eligible for subsidy. People will now get subsidy of up to Rs 250 directly deposited in their bank account while refilling their gas cylinder.
When you request for a gas cylinder under the PM Ujjwala Yojana, the subsidy amount will be directly credited to your account. Please note that the subsidy is limited to 12 cylinders per year, and any additional cylinders filled beyond this limit will not be eligible for the subsidy.

Apply for PM Ujjwala Yojana Online
- To apply, you have to visit of PM Ujjwala Yojana .
- There, you will find a link of “Ujjwala Yojana New Registration 2.0” which you have to click on .
- This link will take you to a new page .
- On that page you will get the option to select 3 gas agencies .
- You will have to select the agency you want to connect to and press NEXT .
- After that, you have to complete the given process and select your State and City .
- After this, a new list containing the names of all the gas distribution branches in your district will be displayed.
- You will have to select the branch nearest to you and click on “Continue” .
- Now, you have to access the application form by filling in your mobile number and Captcha Code .
- In the PM Ujjwala Yojana form, you will have to fill in the important information of the woman and upload her necessary documents .
- Finally, you have to submit it and take a printout of your application.
- Finally, you will have to submit the printout along with your other documents to the nearest branch .
- After a few days, you will get a gas connection .
