Gujarat to Witness Continuous Rain for Next 5 Days

Unseasonal rain has once again gripped Gujarat, and the situation is far from normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state will continue to experience rain for the next five days. Meteorologist Ambalal Patel has also predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of the state within the next 48 hours.

Low-Pressure Systems Causing Rain Across the State

A low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea and another one in the Bay of Bengal are responsible for the widespread rainfall. The system over the Arabian Sea is directly impacting Saurashtra, while the Bay of Bengal system is keeping the entire state under cloudy and wet conditions.

Districts Under Heavy Rain Alert

The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for the following districts:

  • Saurashtra Region: Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath
  • South Gujarat: Bharuch, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Valsad, Navsari, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli

In addition, Ahmedabad is expected to receive light to moderate rain. Fishermen have been strictly warned not to venture into the sea, and ports have hoisted signal number 3 due to rough sea conditions.

Ambalal Patel’s Forecast

According to Ambalal Patel, the next three days will be crucial for Gujarat. He has predicted that on October 30 and 31, heavy rainfall may occur in Vadodara, Patan, Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Aravalli, and Mehsana districts, along with parts of Saurashtra. Intermittent showers are expected in many regions across the state.

Patel also mentioned that South Gujarat could continue to experience heavy rainfall until November 2. The low-pressure area moving toward Gujarat will increase the intensity of rain in Saurashtra, North Gujarat, and South Gujarat.

Precautions and Impact on Farmers

The unseasonal rain has already damaged standing crops in several regions, leaving farmers in distress. With the rainfall expected to continue, people are advised to:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain
  • Keep electronic equipment safe from moisture
  • Farmers should delay harvesting activities until the weather stabilizes

Cold Weather Expected After Rain Ends

Once this rain phase ends, temperatures are expected to drop significantly. According to Ambalal Patel, the state could witness severe winter conditions starting around December 22. The public is advised to stay prepared for the sudden weather shift.
